Glass Sappho

Three large stained glass windows at Sunbury Manor. 

The mansion was built in 1908, by the Shamokin Lumber Company as the private estate of the local Coal Baron. It has since been bought and sold, sold and bought. As such many of its meanings and symbols have been cleaned in that way markets tend to do. 

Who were these women? Was this a depiction of the Coal Baron's family story? Who's the baby? Where are the ships sailing off to?

I don't have the answers to these questions, but I do have these questions.
